Puddle Clay, or as it is more commonly known ‘Engineering Clay’, has been used for a number of years in the construction of dams, reservoirs and canals. The product is also now frequently used for the lining and capping of landfill sites to prevent harmful leaching.
The clay is compressed by excavators when placed in the base of a canal or lake which then creates a waterproof barrier. Tested permeability Kv m/s 2.4 x 10 to -10, our Puddle Clay is practically impermeable.
